Located in Yangshuo, The Bamboo Leaf Yangshuo offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. A group of 3 friends traveling in China. We have found our stay at Bamboo Lead extremely pleasant, the staff was very nice and very helpful. Small and cozy western and Chinese breakfast, in a room with an amazing view on the mountains. The crepes were stunning! Also highly recommend the room service, we had cheese and cold cuts boards and the quality was very good (especially for China standards) and the price very good. Also very good selection of wine and their prices. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy, we have highly appreciated the use of recyclable and eco friendly tools, which is very rare in China. Very good taste also in the choice of furnitures. The hotel is a few minutes bike ride away from the center of Yangshuo, yet in a better, less touristy and more secluded area to enjoy some rest and peace. Highly recommended!

Positioned along Taohua River, Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel boasts a Chinese-style courtyard and is located in Lujia Village, just 2 km from downtown Guilin. Excellent view. Rooms were very nicely decorated with attention to detail. Noodles with complementary breakfast were my favorite of the trip. Excellent communication from staff.

Check-in was easy, just hand in the passports/ID and they'll bring them back to you when registered, the public area has a cosy fireplace, a small bar and a restaurant area. Tea and coffee are on hand all day, and afternoon snacks are provided as well. The restaurant food is mostly Chinese but tasty and a few other bits such as chicken popcorn and chips for the kids. Breakfast is fine with cereals, toast, a range of hot foods, eggs and noodle soups. The pool is open all year and the brave in winter can take a dip! there is outdoor seating overlooking the river and a rainproof gazebo in wet weather. The rooms are spacious and rustic. the beds are clean and comfortable with aircon for hot and cold as needed. Some rooms are suitable for families singles couples and friends so plenty of choices. Tips - contact the hotel for we chat connections and they can be super helpful and cater for your needs. free bikes are on hand and the hotel can help with a range of activities, many an easy cycle or within an hours walk. hiking the back trails along the rivers and karst is easy and well worth it but download apps to your phone such as MapsMe, Locus Map and A Map have most of the paths marked between them. The nearest train station is Yangshuo 2h30m ish from Guangzhou and 4-5h30m from Wuhan and the airport at Guilin. The hotel can arrange transfers.

Li River Resort is situated on the west bank of Li River and offers a relaxing retreat in Chinese-style accommodation. In addition to the outstanding room and view, the attention to detail from the staff was incomparable to the average hotel. The room was not only incredibly clean, but warmed up upon our arrival. When we did not arrive at the time we said, we received a call to check up on whether we made it to the city alright. A private car brought guests to and from the city center and back 4 times a day. They also accommodated for vegans by subbing out pre-set menu items, but the offerings were already pretty extensive. In addition, everything we had was tasty, but the coffee stood out. The milk to add to the coffee was also warm, another great attention to detail.

Situat între păduri de bambus și terenuri agricole, Hotelul Riverside Retreat are vedere la frumosul râu Li. Best view in whole yangshou. The location makes it quiet and it’s still very close to the city centre. The staff helped us with getting 2 bikes from the hotel for 20 yuan/ person. Quite a good deal for the whole day. We were tired from the bike and couldn’t come back as we wanted to eat and they let us park the bikes in the centre and they got them picked from there. Very convenient and no up charge! If you go in winter you can just ask for more heaters! The air con works as a heater as well. Also as we went in off season they upgraded our room for free!!

Right opposite Two Rivers and Four Lakes, Guilin Rong Lake Aroma Tea House, formerly Jing Guan Ming Lou Museum Hotel, is located in the city centre. A cultural experience with a lovely room and friendly helpful staff.

Melody (at the reception) was really helpful and compensated for our inability to speak to mandarin. She organised all the tours for us and was very patient with us. We were upgraded for free and there is free tap water and breakfast included. The hotel is set in a really nice location which is tranquil, though you will need a bike or DiDi to get into town.

The main attractions of Lanshan Wangyue Hotel are the outstanding location in a village not too far from the town of Yangshuo, but with a feeling of old rural China and magnificent unobstructed view of the karst peaks in all directions; and the friendly service by the owners, Mark Ma, Li Wu and Siwei, and their hard-working and helpful staff. Additionally, the rooms are commodious and offer full views-- distant mountains from the front, the village and close mountains on the back side. The beds are new and great for sleeping, plus the rooms have good insulation and are very quiet. The proprietors find out what the guests wish to do, and custom arrange and lead excursions into the surrounding countryside. In an area that has lots of tourists (almost all domestic Chinese), they can take guests on bike trips or hikes to places that no one else visits. Ask them to take you on the half hour climb up to the old Qing Dynasty bandits lair in a cave high above the surrounding countryside, or to one of the ancient villages in the area. So much to see and do in the area, with some of the finest scenery in China.
