This converted 18th-century farmhouse, set in Almeria’s Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve, is 700 metres from San José Beach. It offers horse riding facilities, an outdoor pool and tennis court. The pool was great, we spent our afternoons there when it was too hot to walk to the town.

Situated in Almería’s Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve, Hotel las Calas is 20 metres from Agua Amarga Beach. Rooms include satellite TV and private terraces overlooking the gardens or sea. Everything. The guys working there are LOVELY.

Set in Cabo de Gata-Níjar Nature Reserve, this hotel is located in Bayo-Lirola Service Station, only 20 minutes’ drive from Carboneras, Las Negras or Agua Amarga beaches. The location was just of the motorway, easy to find, easy to park.

This charming, family-run property is located 800 metres outside Níjar, in Andalusia’s beautiful Huebro Valley. It offers a garden with a swimming pool and orange and olive trees. Host Celeste is very welcoming and helpful, you can borrow a parasol for the beach from her.
