Surrounded by vineyards, this 18th-century palace is located in the small village of Canedo, just 30 minutes’ drive from Ponferrada. It offers guided visits of the palace and the vineyards. Set in a working vineyard - the views were panoramic and the decor really added to the character. There was a wonderful cafe/ restaurant for meals which we took out on the verandah. It was very well signposted so access was easy for us as English speaking drivers from abroad.

Maria the daughter of the house went out of her way to ensure our stay was enjoyable as possible, making recommendations for outings and phone calls to arrange a winery visit (difficult as harvest time) and lunch, and bringing hot water for our morning tea. excellent local wines and very good local traditional food.

Beautiful place, hidden in a small town. The owners are very welcoming and eager to help you with whatever there is. The dinner cooked by the owner was delicious, and the wines amazing. Make sure to try out the dessert!
