The room was spacious, the bed super soft and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and diverse. 100% a place I would recommend!

The bed was very comfortable as well. I travelled solo to Lalibela and this hotel felt very safe. The hotel manager Belay was very responsive to all my questions/concerns and helped me with everything I needed during my stay from walking me to where I wanted to go to lending me an electrical adapter. The hotel itself is around 5-7 minute tuk tuk ride from the churches (so rather close but away from the town center so it’s quiet and peaceful). I would definitely stay here again!

They have a local guide who speaks great English and have incredible knowledge about the history. They even offered me dinner for the last night!

The view, the room, the staff were all wonderful. The beds are a little hard, but I think it's because they are traditional beds. So just a heads up. Other than that.... it was a wonderful getaway.

I loved staying at Fikir and Ray. The lodge itself is beautiful, and my room had lovely views towards the country side. It is located about 15 mins by foot from Lalibela's central area. The hotel arranged my transport from/to the airport, and my guide (Girma) met me there and was extremely helpful throughout my stay both with activities in Lalibela and a person problem I had. The owner, Abebe, also helped me with all the above and is extremely kind. Breakfast was at a nearby sister hotel, which also provided wifi as there are some problems with local connections. The staff at both hotels were incredibly kind and I would, and already have, recommended this to friends.

My room at the Alef Paradise hotel had a really beautiful view that I could enjoy from my own little patio. The staff were all very nice and helpful and even set me up with a local guide and transport before I arrived. The free breakfast was really delicious - especially the coffee! Overall, the Alef Paradise hotel is a great value for money and I would definitely recommend to future visitors! To note: the power is only on at certain times of day (evening and potentially a few hours in the morning) but that's more a function of power in the town and not due to Alef Paradise Hotel. Just plan to charge your things at night or have a power bank with you.
