A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. The room was as we expected, with great views. Breakfast, dinner, cheese platter with our drinks upon arrival as we traveled the whole day, a perfect start of our stay. The staff was as friendly and helpful as always and when we had to book an extra night last minute we got the large family room which, although not the great views, you do get red robbins on your windowsill to wake you up which we loved. Hoping to come back again in September.

From $123 per nightLoved the location just back from Cockermouth main st. It was quiet and easy to walk through to the shops. There is an amazing butcher which backs on to the apartment. The unit has most things one needs for self catering. Basic but available. It is a great base for walks and tours around the Lake District. The Cumberland sausage from the butcher is superb. There is parking on site which is a bonus. Access is interesting to say the least. Big cars will be challenged. Done once it becomes easier. Oh have I mentioned the butcher?

Great central Cockermouth location. Superb deluxe room with queen size bed and sofa. Off-site parking but only a few minutes walk away with free pass (loading directly outside hotel for bags). Fantastic cooked breakfast with quality bacon and delicious Cumberland sausage. All the staff were very friendly and really helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Room itself pleasant. Liked the turquoise throw and cushions. Room had a nice garden view. Owners were apologetic about the delays at the beginning, and did finally put us in the same hotel with rooms next to each other. My friend did think the Cumberland sausage was good in the evening. And liked the scrambled egg option for breakfast.

This was my 40th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Bridge Hotel on our honeymoon.The hotel has been modernized but the front entrance looks the same. It has a special place in our hearts. Food was great. The bathroom and room renovations are really wonderful. It was well worth the return trip.
