The whole atmosphere is great. Marianne is lovely and gave me a great wellcome. The food is absolutely fantastic… a great menu. But total star of the show is Josie, who works so hard running the bar and restaurant. She always has a smile, and time for a chat. Travelling alone, all we can really hope for is a warm welcome, a very nice room, and great food and wine!

Striking and modern, The Marquis of Granby is a former village pub that offers contemporary dining and chic rooms, all amid beautiful Kent countryside near Dover, Folkestone, Canterbury and Ashford. Excellent room and delicious menu. Very attentive and helpful staff.

Margate House se află în Kent, la 17 km de Gara Sandwich și la 23 km de Castelul Sandown. The property has recently been refurbished and was of impeccable standard. I was a big fan of the decor and personally did not want to go home to my drab house. Definitely considered painting all rooms pink from the moment I stepped inside. Cute room albeit small but snug. Beautiful bathroom with good shower. Loved the addition of the complimentary snacks. Bed was super comfy and air con worked a charm. Only regret was not making breakfast.

Donnington Manor Hotel is located just 10 minutes’ drive from Sevenoaks. It offers a fitness suite, free WiFi access throughout the hotel, an Italian restaurant and complimentary parking. Close to Otford. Lovely Tudor restaurant.

Set in 44 acres of land right on the coast of the English Channel, this 4-star Victorian hotel boasts a spa and a 9-hole golf course. The facility is right on the beach, and close to downtown, which is a pleasant collection of small shops. Staff was very helpful. The town is worthy h a visit. I’ll include this hotel on my next visit.

Built in 1602, The Dog & Bear Hotel in Lenham offers cosy log fires, a courtyard terrace and cooked breakfasts. With free parking, Maidstone is a 20-minute drive away. My room was spotless and very quiet and the staff was really kind to give me a better room than the one I booked. Breakfast was great too: lots of choice and quality products.

With a pretty Kentish village location, just across from Eynsford Castle, local churches and shop, the Castle Hotel offers contemporary accommodation in Eynsford. Great place, brilliantly Sunday roast! The staff were nice and helpful especially Esther
