In the heart of the historic market town of Barnard Castle, The Three Horseshoes Hotel is a 17th century building less than a mile from the River Tees. Very clean everything was as it should be , staff were excellent, best place we've stayed in years

Situated in the village of Armathwaite with its views of Cumbria Pennine fells and the River Eden, The Dukes Head is a traditional country Inn where guests can enjoy a drink, traditional meal and... Delicious. Couldn't ask for more.

The place was beautiful, staff were so friendly We had food on the night time in The Smithy restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was tasty and well served. We opted for the traditional breakfast in the morning as part of our stay that was top quality

Rooms spotless.The Staff were truly 10/10.So kind to my twin sister who has a learning disability. Took time to make her feel so welcome.The housekeeper in particular was so friendly, telling us places to walk with my dog etc.Food was excellent and I'd highly recommend the cream tea,excellent value too.Phoned me when I also left my dogs collar and lead and arranged to post it back to me.I will 100%be back , bringing my lovely friends with me.THANK YOU ALL AT THE HOWARD ARMS
