Situated in Sgoudiana of Gavdos island, Metochi Gavdos features a tavern and views of the sea. Free WiFi is provided . All rooms open to a terrace with views. Stayed here at the beginning of May. The property is the most central to explore the island. The family were most helpful and catered for our every needs in exploring the island. The property is linked to several trails linking the other villages. At the next village 45 minutes walk you will find the island bakers (Stella's not to be missed). Unfortunately as it was the beginning of the season Maria's mother was away so we missed out on the ice cream, however upon return we will sample it. We met a couple who brought their pedal cycles from Crete, had we had access to pedal cycles it would have made the getting around the island simple.

It had a spacious terrace behind and it was located within walking distance of the 2 restaurants in Kastri village and the bakery. The beds were comfy and had air conditioning in both rooms. WiFi worked perfectly (I booked the place specifically for the internet, as I was working both days remotely). Overall I never expected to find something that nice on Gavdos island the Villa Kastri was a pleasant surprise.
