The room or rather chamber we stayed was impressive. the details and the interior design was absolutely amazing. The bathroom is beautiful and very big as well. the room also has a kettle and coffee maker and yes they also offer good quality capsules and teas. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the breakfast is good and they offer a good range of food options. the main breakfast room with the old feeling and medieval music is fantastic. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. it’s Eger best kept secret without a doubt.

The 4-star Avar Hotel was built in 2020 and it is located at the foot of the Mátra mountain. It offers garden, wellness center, 24-hour front desk, room service and luggage storage. Beautiful hotel, nice and friendly staff, delicious food and big variety, highly recommended. Tried many good hotels in the country but way above the average.:)

Situated in Eger, 700 metres from Eger Castle, Erla Villa features accommodation with free WiFi. Lovely suite. We arrived very early, like at 9 in the morning but after explaining that we drove all night and my husband just wanted to nap in the car on the parking lot for an hour or so... they opened up our room..... diner everyday was amazing, over the top perfection, gorgeous garden.

Offering on-site swimming pools, hot tub and saunas, Imola Hotel Platán is situated in the centre of Eger. It features a restaurant serving regional dégustation menus and a garden with terrace. The staff at the hotel is very caring and helpful. Everyone is working to make your stay as comfortable as they can (and I do mean everyone, from the receptionists, waitresses, the sommelier, the cooks in the kitchen). And they do it in a heartfelt, sincere, kind way. The wellness had everything we needed (sauna, jacuzzi, hot and cold water pools, solar beach room, hay therapy and salt room). Location is top-notch as the Eger spa is within walking distance and one can simply walk from the hotel directly to the spa. We really enjoyed breakfast (fresh bakery products and a good selection of options) and dinner (modern, well thought-out meals, very tasty I'd even say gourmet :) ). At last but not least, I'd give a shout to the wonderful musician who plays during dinner time, we liked it very much :).

Located directly under the Castle of Eger in the historical town centre, Imola Udvarház Dessert Hotel offers air-conditioned accommodation and a restaurant with Hungarian cuisine. The location is perfect, everything is in walking distance. Comfortable bed, clean room with a nice view of the town and the castle. Breakfast was good. Restaurant Macok is simply divine, I could eat there everyday.

Surrounded by woodland, this extensive resort offers a spa with Finnish saunas, a coveredable open-air swimming pool, an indoor jakuzzi, a squash court, and free Wi-Fi. We booked this hotel as part of our road trip in Hungary and were very happy with our choice. The communication with the hotel was great and smooth. I asked them to prepare a bottle of wine as a birthday gift and they did great with that including adding a note. Both breakfast and dinner were great, the wellness area was also great and there were many other activities at the hotel which made our stay more fun. The room was spacious and the location was also nice, very close to the natural park. Overall it was a great stay.

Bambara Hotel is surrounded by a forest and provides African-style décor and atmosphere. The hotel offers spacious rooms with a flat-screen TV and a minibar. Really well equipped for kids, the Africa theme is really nice, loved the Meerkats in the hotel. Great outdoor animals and play areas....huge labyrinth was a lot of fun. My five used the spa twice and really liked it. Pool bar food is really good. Staff were friendly and remembered my room number.

Hotel Ózon & Luxury Villas is a 4-star superior hotel set in the Mátra mountain range, surrounded by the Mátra National Preserve. Great location and beautiful view from the room if you take the panorama view. The spa is well designed and clean with beautiful amenities. The staff is professional, competent and pleasant. The food at dinner was good and the breakfast delicious. The possibility to continue enjoying the spa after checkout is most appreciated. It was a great weekend escape.

Offering free access to the tennis court and the wellness area with pools, sauna, sun bed and hot tub, the Kastélyhotel Sasvár Resort in Parádsasvár in the Mátra Hills also houses an à la carte... Service at reception was amazing, we arrived 7pm during snow shower, they help to find room.
