We loved our stay at Rua. If you are after a beautiful quiet place to stay this is it. It's very reasonably priced for Sumba as there are very limited places to stay. It's situated right on a stunning quiet beach. There is WIFI, hot water and AWESOME food. They do all the normal delicious fresh Indonesian food but also genuine homemade pasta for a yummy treat. The building is a little aged but that is part of the beautiful beachy rustic charm of the place. We will be back for sure! Thank-you for looking after us so well.

The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

Such a peaceful and vibey place! It is right on the beach with horses and buffalos passing by at sunset-it is truelly magical if you are looking to embrace the Sumba experience. The room was really pretty with comfortable bed. It isn’t 5 star hotel so don’t expect white glove seevice but the staff is the sweetest and tried the best to accomodate our needs. There is also Alamayah just behind the fence if you fancy a western food. I will be definitely coming back to SBH.

Mario Hotel could not be in a better location! From the beautiful pool area you can walk down the steps and you are right on the beach. The beach is incredible, so clean and untouched and there wasn't another person in sight so very relaxing. The staff are so friendly and helpful and we were able to rent a motorbike and basic snorkeling gear from the hotel. Our room had great AC and was clean and comfortable. I would 100% recommend Mario to anyone visiting Sumba.

Absolutely amazing hotel, incredibly beautiful, staff very friendly and delicious food! Comfortable big room with great bed and air con - an amazing find in Sumba! Will definitely stay again when I next visit.

Considering its owned/ operated by locals, I think its one of the best that Sumba can offers. The beach on the backside of the hotels are great, especially on the low tides.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lelewatu Resort from the moment I arrived until the day of departure. friendly staff with a genuine smile. The room was so spacious and clean. The ocean view is amazing as well as the pool. We had a great stay here and definitely coming back.
