The Killeshin Hotel is one mile from Portlaoise and junction 16 off the M7 motorway. It offers a bistro, an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym and free parking. Everything about the hotel was fab, we arrived to the genuinely welcoming smile of front receptionist Nina, an absolute pleasure to deal with, helpful informative and just lovely. The room was great, we had breakfast delivered and it was scrumptious. On leaving we met Jonathan, again a fantastic representative funny and extremely helpful. We'll be visiting again thats for sure!!

The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. bed was comfortable, space in the suite adequate for 2 people, staff friendly, food was good in the restaurant, spa excellent

The Heritage offers 4-star accommodation in Killenard. Set within private gardens, guests may enjoy the on-site features including a leisure centre, award-winning spa, and on-site bars and... Everything about the stay was perfect - the experience was excellent from Check-in, food service to Spa Facility we were met with the same excellent service standard, where nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our needs during the stay. The location is super convenient to M7 would highly recommend and I will definitely return.

The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town centre and O'Moore Park. It boasts a 20-metre pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym. Room size was great value for the rate

Located in Mountmellick and only 22 km from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre, Summergrove House provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. I highly recommend Summergrove House. This place is spectacular. I wish we had stayed 2 nights. James was wonderful and very passionate about the house. I think he did most of the restoration himself and it appears he runs the place himself. It was really a special experience. The house is beautifully furnished and the grounds are big, lush, and green. James cooked us our breakfast while we all sat in the kitchen at a big table. He greeted us on the front steps and had drinks ready in the drawing room. We had a 2 room suite and it was over the top fun to stay in them! I would stay here again any day.

The Yoke has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Ballybrittas, 16 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. John was a lovely host who truly cared about the conditions of our stay

Offering a garden and garden view, Kearney's Cottage B&B is located in Killenard, 18 km from Kildare Town Heritage Centre and 23 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum. The loveliest B&B with the nicest most welcoming family. Can’t recommend it enough!

Set 31 km from Athy Heritage Centre-Museum and 34 km from Kilkenny Railway Station, Preston House features free WiFi and units equipped with a kitchen, terrace and seating area. The photos don’t do it justice. the property is gorgeous , absolutely perfect for group gathering. There is so much space for drinks and dinner , the kitchen is amazing! we had a big dinner for 10+ - plenty of glassware / dishware / platters for the event . It was spacious but cosy….Abbeyleix is a lovely little town with a few local pubs , nice bakery, convenient supermarket, gift shop… it’s so cute! Ross , the host, is brilliant ! Very friendly , helpful , accommodating , knowledgeable… such a nice guy. We were sad to leave when our stay ended!
