When you get to the Hafdals Hotel you will be impressed by the view and then you’ll realise that you get to enjoy this view every single second during your stay (well not every second, the bathroom has no view towards Akureyri but this is no fault of the hotel). Speaking of the room it is quite spacious and the shower has some nice water pressure. The complete hotel facility was clean and well managed! The breakfast buffet is adequate, there is a good amount of choice and the food and drink is of high quality. The bed is comfortable and the provided pillow lead to some restfull sleep.

Hlídarfjall Ski Resort is 5 km away. located on top of the hill, in a central position. Just next to the active swimming pool, visible from our window. Spacious room, well furnished and new. the bathroom separated into two spaces, this is helpful to accelerate the use by the two of us. It has nice common spaces for an evening chat and a fantastic restaurant, Aurora, for breakfast and dinner, much appreciated specially as very few restaurants open in the city at this time of the year.
