Located in the hamlet of Entreves, 2 km from Courmayeur, Hotel Aiguille Noire offers accommodation 600 metres from the Skyway Monte Bianco. My friend and I stayed at Hotel Aiguille Noire while doing the Tour de Mont Blanc (TMB). We could not have chosen a better place to stay. This hotel has been in the same family for four generations, which results in a great deal of care and effort. Our check in was easy, our room was spacious and comfortable (and even had a balcony), and the front lawn was perfect for an afternoon drink after hiking all day. Every person we encountered was kind and generous with their time. One of the owners even called a refuge for my friend and I to ensure we had a place to stay the next night on our trek. We feel so lucky that we were able to spend some time at this hotel. It was absolutely wonderful!

Surrounded by the Alps, in Planaval, Baita La Jolie Bergere is set in a typical mountain hut at an altitude of 1700 metres. The experience at the Chalet was a very pleasant surprise! We had no expectations going in and we felt like we were treated like family. The staff was very pleasant and more accommodating then one could reasonably expect. We were embraced warmly and received unrivaled hospitality. Dinner and drinks were excellent! The staff recommendations for dinner could not have been better and we ended our evening by a fire outside the chalet with a great digestif. We loved the experience. Our only regret is that we only had the one night!
