Albergo Diffuso Borgo Retrosi di Amatrice in Amatrice has 3-star accommodation with a garden. The hotel also features free WiFi and free private parking. Not a lot I can add to the other reviews. After many nights in rooms where I was quite disappointed, this was finally a great room again. Shampoo in a tiny bottle, a shower rack, an absolutely clean shower. Soap from a soap dispenser... All the little things you come to miss on a vacation. It felt more like staying a night at home than being in a room where a different stranger sleeps every night. And on top of that a very nice host.

This is a wonderful rural inn with a terrific restaurant. We booked it because it was close to several places in Abruzzo we planned to visit, and because of its promising menu. And we were not disappointed. The owner is warm and eager to help with anything. When we checked in, I commented that the day's menu included tripe, which i do like. that evening, our waiter started by asking if i was the guest who wanted tripe. and i did.

Hotel Ristorante Zunica is set in the medieval village of Civitella del Tronto and has beautiful views across the Abruzzo countryside. It features a rustic restaurant with original stone arches. Lovely old but well-maintained building at the center of the village, with lovely views across the hills and mountains of Gran Sasso. Very friendly and helpful staff. Truly exceptional restaurant as part of the hotel, serving a fantastic dinner and very good authentic Italian breakfast.
