The facilities were great. Info given to us and suggestions made by Nikolo was worth our time. Best cakes for breakfast. A definite YES, if you want to stay away from the busier centre town. 5 km away from old town Montepulciano. We were sorry to leave.

Situated in a small town, Civitella in val di Chiana - that has its own castle-, this accommodation has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Our room had a small roof terrace with perfect view, you can spend your day there, it’s that good. You can make day trips to Arezzo, or just hike around the castle. The dinners prepared by the owner of the locanda, were the best restaurant experience we had our entire trip, maybe even from all our Italy experiences. Local specialities cooked perfectly.

Everything -- the staff is really lovely and accommodating, they make you feel right at home. The hotel is situated right outside Montepulciano and the front rooms have a great view of the city and Duomo. The food was exceptionally good! We stayed for three nights in this beautiful building. The staff were fantastic throughout our visit and made us feel so welcome. The food in the restaurant was beyond belief and Alain was a tremendous host giving great recommendations on both food and wine. The rooms very nicely decorated and very comfotable.We enjoyed relaxing in the outside terrace and courtyard and the firepits in the evening were a lovely touch. Will definitely be back.
