Blackfern Lodge in Waimiha has 4-star accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The hotel features a hot tub and a shared kitchen. If you ever get a chance to stay at Rachael’s and Mark‘s place, do it. I came a second time from Germany and will return for a third one. For the private waterfall, the quirky and heartwarming handmade details all around the grounds, the nightsky, feeding trouts, hearing blue ducks, or the room with costumes, but most importantly for feeling this unique spot between nature and garden. It is so peaceful and quiet it is absolutely mind-boggling.

Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. The location is stunning. You can get on the trail straight out of the parking lot. We booked a room with a queen bed and a shared bathroom. The room was tiny, just a few square feet larger than the bed but it was very cozy and the shared lounge was spacious. The shared bathroom was spotless. The shared kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed the social aspect of being around other travelers. We visited during a spring shoulder but I worry that during peak ski season both the kitchen and bathrooms would be overwhelmed.

Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre offers spectacular views of Lake Taupo and the volcanoes of Tongariro National Park. The room was neat and clean. The bathroom was spacious. Very close to the lake and walkway. Also close to eating places. Breakfast was also very good!

Hilton Lake Taupo includes free pool and gym access and features views over Lake Taupo and is just minutes away from the town centre. It is a 15-minute drive from Taupo Airport. Facilities were amazing as were the in room amenities & set up. The staff were incredibly attentive & accomodating.

This Millennium Hotel and Resort is located right on the edge of Lake Taupo. It offers luxury accommodation and facilities that include a heated pool, sauna, gym and tennis court. Everything was so clean, the staff was amazing and the food was delicious.

Set in Ohakune, 19 km from Turoa, Snowman Cabins offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The property features a bar, as well as a spa and wellness... clean and tidy, very good location

The Powderhorn Chateau is situated in Ohakune, at the entrance to Tongariro National Park. What a lovely chalet! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant/bar and hot pool. They also have an ev charger available. We definitely recommend!

Lakeland Resort is situated on the beautiful shores of Lake Taupo. Set on 2.8 acres of landscaped grounds, this resort boasts a tennis court, an on-site restaurant and a seasonal outdoor swimming... Friendly, helpful staff. Really good breakfast. Close to the lakeside path. Good lighting in the room.

Located in the Tongariro National Park, The Park Hotel Ruapehu offers affordable accommodation in a stunning alpine setting. Guests are provided with free parking and 500MB of free WiFi. Excellent all round accommodation restaurant location

Located on the shore, the Lakefront Lodge Taupo offers spectacular lake views and free WiFi access. It has an outdoor swimming pool. Good location, the view is fabulous
