Located 1 km off the IP2 motorway, Malhadinha is a rural manor set among pristine natural surroundings. It features a panoramic pool, spa with hot tub and hammam, free Wi-Fi and free bicycles. The welcome from reception and the support in sorting out our lunch and wine tasting. The service and quality of food in the restaurant was superb. The wine is also fabulous and we enjoyed our tour of the vineyard and our tasting experience. Such depth and variation from a young vineyard. The staff are all wonderful, knowledgable, enthusiastic and helpful. They clearly love their work and ensuring the guest experience is the best. The family who own and run the vineyard, hotel and restaurant seem totally committed to its success and are clearly very proud of their achievement. We met two members of the family who were genuinely interested to know we were having a great time.

The retreat is brand new and the property very well constructed. All finishes are of superb quality with every detail carefully thought out by the owners. If you want serenity, this is your spot. The pagoda is a special place to unwind. Staff is lovely and friendly. I would stay again.

Set halfway between the city and the countryside, the Hotel Pulo do Lobo is in a quiet area in the Alentejo. The famed Serpa Castle is a 15-minute walk away. It was quiet and comfortable for a good sleep. The AC worked well. The location was just outside the main town area but close enough for an easy walk. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.
