Ideally located in the highest village in Portugal, El Rei Dom Manuel Hotel is housed in a historic building, its rooms offer breathtaking and stunning views over the landscapes of Portugal and Spain.... The staff at this hotel were really lovely. We ate dinner and breakfast there and the food was nice. Great location for exploring the town.

Situated in Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, in historic Castelo de Vide, this typical and rustic Alentejo hotel offers elegant rooms with a flat-screen TV. Facilities include bicycle rental. Very central, within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. Beautiful view from a mountain room and no traffic noise. A very good standard of cleanliness in all areas.

Surrounded by the lush forests of the São Mamede Mountains in Portalegre, this former convent is decorated with several historic armours, weapons and antiques. Incredible historical property providing a quintessential Alentejo experience. The property despite historical/old is very well kept, and you can see how much attention to detail has been put by the (very kind) property owners in every corner. The swimming pool is absolutely outstanding, merging perfectly into the Alentejo background, giving a sense of freedom and harmony.

Situated in 2 small traditional whitewashed houses in Marvão, this charming pousada offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains from its restaurant. Location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Views from dining room were exceptional.
