As always, it was a beautiful place to stay! I brought my portable sewing machine up this time and it was perfect… just “me time” when my daughter was doing her thing. Also, I brought my CD/radio player and listened to the nearest radio station which happened to be an “oldies” channel in Canada. This trip was just my adult daughter and I. It was just as special for the two of us as when I come with my husband.

The Bluebird Motel Maine provides air-conditioned rooms in Machias. There is a barbecue and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. I liked the fact that it hasn't been bought up by the Pakistani motel cartel. It's refreshing to see real Americans behind the front desk.
