Located in Brunswick, 42 km from Portland Observatory, The Federal provides accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The Federal was a beautiful hotel with lovely art work and a cosy comfortable foyer. The rooms were equally good. comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and with well designed bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and were very welcoming.

First and foremost I would like to say this was one of the best places I have ever stayed in all my years of travelling to various countries around the world. My mother and I were visiting from Ireland and unfortunately due to the train station being located at Wells, we required a taxi to and from the station. We were initially advised Uber would work in that area but it did not and we were told after this by the hotel that they were notoriously unreliable. We successfully managed to get to the property after calling a local taxi at the train station. We also ensured to arrange a taxi to take us back to the train station with plenty of notice. 30 minutes before the taxi was due to arrive, the hotel was called to let us know they would be a few minutes late only and not to worry as we would still make our train. 25 minutes later no sign and I spoke to the lady working there. When I asked if they gave an ETA as our train was booked back to Boston in less than 30 minutes, she was shocked and immediately sprung into action. She attempted to contact back the taxi company who now were not answering. She straight away got in touch with her general manager, Kristin, who had no hesitation to take us to the train station at Wells asap. We made the train with 2 minutes to spare and to be honest besides the helpful nature of the staff throughout our stay which I was going to highly commend, the actions of the staff and the lengths they went to to help us in our situation were amazing and I was so grateful for their kindness. Besides all this drama, we encountered various staff during our stay including the lovely Megan and Tasha. Both were super friendly and helpful during our stay. Breakfast was great each morning with fresh fruit, yoghurt, granola and a variety of breads. The offerings were very healthy and tasted great too. Also, the drink station was a nice touch and the evening salted cookies were wonderful. The hotel was very clean and tidy and in a beautiful location.

Bar Harbor e' una cittadina gradevole e affollata di turisti; dal suo porticiolo parte un veliero a 4 alberi che porta i turisti a visitare le isole e le coste del Parco dell'Acadia a un prezzo abbordabile. Dal porto parte un sentiero veramente piacevole che costeggia l'oceano , al tramonto e' il massimo. Da questa localita' si accede al Parco dell'Acadia che e' stupendo, sia per chi intende goderselo stando in auto, sia per chi vuole fare passeggiate di qualsiasi grado di difficolta'. Si trova a qualche miglio a sud di Portland e insieme a Camden e' la cittadina più elegante del Maine. I Bush hanno qui una delle loro residenze. Molto curato, immerso nel verde, offre molte possibilità di fare attività all'aperto: kayak, bicicletta, lunghe passeggiate nei boschi . Il lobster (astice) e' una presenza costante nei locali del posto

Cittadina molto animata, bella posizione in una insenatura tipica del Maine. Vale la pena di girare tutta la penisola e di andare in quella vicina, Pemmaquid Point. Cenato da Mc Seagull, carino perché friendly-casual e frequentato da locali. Abbiamo fatto anche l'Whale Whatch tour e visto le balene!
