The room was spacious and the AC worked great. The staff were so kind and helpful. The food was delicious (we liked the curry best) and very reasonably priced. We also signed up for a one day tour with them and we had a great day with 5 orangutan sightings led by our guides Jojo and Aldi. One evening some local guys came by to hang out and play some music. It was great singing along and getting to know the people of Bukit Lawang! It was also great that this didn’t go on late into the night and we still went to bed at a very reasonable time.

We just loved everything about this place! The beach, the palm trees and the clear waters of the deep blue sea are picture perfect everywhere around the island. Our beautiful wooden bungalow was nice and basic - but with all most important necessities - and well maintained, with an attractive veranda with two lovely wicker armchairs, a table and a hammock. It was wonderfully relaxing to spend time here reading or just staring at the sea… The MB Palambak Island Resort has only eight bungalows, all identically designed and in good shape. The four shared bathrooms/toilets are spotlessly clean and well looked after too. The resort is currently one of only two places to stay on the island. There are no settlements or villages, which enhances the Robinson Crusoe feeling. Communal meals are prepared in the central restaurant shack and served at the big tables outside on the veranda (or inside when it’s raining). Before arrival you’ll be asked if you have any food preferences - vegetarian/fish/chicken - and the cook matches your desires. Every day the menu was a surprise, but it was always delicious and with great variety. We didn't have the same dish once during the four days we stayed here. Kayaks and snorkeling gear are free available for guests. However, the underwater world around Pulau Palambak is not the most beautiful in the Banyak Islands; for that you‘re better off going to Tailana or Tambarat. Boat trips can be arranged at reasonable costs. The sand in front of the resort is cleaned daily by the staff (possibly together with volunteering guests). Staff is super friendly and helpful. Essential communication takes place by e-mail and WhatsApp via Mrs Claudine, the great organizational talent behind the scenes. She can also arrange your boat transport from/to the mainland. The MB Camp in Singkil has the same owner as the MB Palambak Island Resort. Direct speedboats can be arranged between both places if required.

Ira and her boys make your holiday to the perfect time. We planned to stay 7 nights but stayed even longer because we enjoyed it so much. Clear water, wonderful beaches, Volleyball and games, there is nothing you cant do

Although there are many bungalows with sea views in the area, the Iboih Inn is the only accommodation that offers sun loungers and lounge areas by the water. Perfect for lazy days or a relaxed morning with a delicious homemade breakfast. This also makes it very easy to strike up a conversation with other travellers. You can snorkel directly from the jetty to a beautiful coral reef. There are very good restaurants nearby with a view or right by the sea. The owners helped me with all the activities and were kind enough to take me to the local market, which was a great experience! I would come back anytime, thank you❤️

Ria and the team were amazing Took very good of us as a family arriving late and departing early in the morning. They prepared an outstanding dinner for us and a take away breakfast.

This was the best weekend getaway (we live in Jakarta). The location is perfect for just winding down, would not advise if you want to be super busy. There are lots of options to go on island hopping tours from the hotel but also more than enough tranquility to hang out by the pool or beach. Also - the beds were AMAZING. We will be coming back :)
