The cottage was very conveniently located in the centre of the village, and we were easily able to visit sites such as Omaha Beach and Bayeux. We enjoyed the market on Sunday and the fact we could easily buy bread each morning. We liked the roof terrace. We appreciated the parking space. We also appreciated the swift replacement of a broken kettle.

Great little fishing Port. Lots to see and do.
Great little fishing Port. Lots to see and do. Seafood Restaurants cannot be beaten ans great selection of them. Excellent location for travelling out to various museums and the local museum is a stunning collection recovered from the sea by a local diver who's lifetime's work is displayed ,from uniform buttons to FULL TANKS. Omaha Beach GC is one of the most demanding in the area with cliff top views of the beach. I have stayed here for over 10 years without regret.

Busy working port, if you get up early you can see the catch being brought in. A selection of restaurants serving fish locally caught. Can highly recommend La Marie du Port. We ate there both nights, excellent food, beautifully presented and served, very reasonably priced! There are other shops too selling produce of the region situated between the restaurants. Easy walking around the port.

Stay two or three days, great location for visiting the DDay Beaches. Interesting old harbour, but go in season. We have also been out of season and it is very grim. In season there is a nice buzz, with restaurants, small shops and cafes. Fish market and old fishing boats line the harbour. Interesting to watch the world go by.

Ok to get to by road, small enough to be easy to walk around, little traffic, good choice of restaurants for eating in the evening. Very pretty fishing port, with lots of active fishing boats and trawlers coming and going. Perhaps not the best place to visit if you don't like the smell of fish though.

Port en Bessin was a wonderful little town, right on the coast of Normandy. Food was good, lots of fish and oysters and mussels. Streets are small as are most in these tiny French towns, so rent a small car and navigate carefully. The towns along the Coast in Normandy are gracious to Americans since they are the D-Day landing towns. We went for the 75th reunion for the D-Day landing (June 6, 2019) and had no idea how seriously they took this celebration. Hundreds of US military vehicles that were left become a part of the celebration all week. The French who own and are driving the vehicles dress as American Soldiers in period uniforms. The French dress up in period outfits, women with stockings with seams in the back, hats and hair done in period coiffures....men in pants with pleats and two toned shoes. They love the American Vets who come over and stop them constantly thanking them for their service and kissing and hugging them. It was an awesome visit and happened in all the towns along the coast. Awesome time to visit Normandy and get to know the French people who are more than willing to talk about what their grandparents did to help during the invasion. Many families hid our troops and exchange kids every summer...their stories are passed down to their kids generation to generation. A French family has been assigned to every cross in the American Cementary and they have taken care of it through generations.

Beautiful house, gîte, very clean and comfortable located in the quiet residential area. Amazing breakfast "a-la-carte" with fresh pastry and great coffee. Stylish room with comfortable bed. Eleonore is a wonderful host managing the offered accommodation with great attention to details and respect for privacy. Three charming cats are making your stay warm like in your own home. Omaha Beach, all the WWII historical landmarks, Bayeux tapestry - all these are worth staying a few days here.
The perfect location in this charming but fully functioning fishing small town, it’s on the 2nd floor and overlooks the harbour and out to sea. You can watch the scallops boats coming in and out, and the little apartment is above a very cafe & simple restaurant, a few yards the town’s supermarket and and surrounded by other bars, restaurants and shops, and on Sunday’s at the head of the street market.
The location was amazing. Situated on the harbor near restaurants and cafes. It was a charming area. The house had excellent group space and the kitchen was well stocked. The fireplace and outdoor patio were welcome surprises. The bathrooms were private and updated. The upstairs area we did not use but would be perfect for a family w independent children. I’d absolutely rent this home again!
The staff was very friendly and there was large parking in the rear of the property. They had goats and chickens that our child enjoyed visiting with. Easy and short walk into the town. Large room that was perfect for a family. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and brought to the room. Location is perfect if visiting Omaha Beach, Normandy, cemeteries and othe WWII sites.

The cottage is wonderful, and lacks nothing. Centrally located to all of the Normandy sites, on a quiet street, it is one of the best properties we have stayed at after traveling to 13 different countries. We would have gladly stayed longer. All needed amenities are available, and much thought and care has gone into furnishing the cottage.
-Staff: VERY FRIENDLY
-Breakfast: very OK
-Location: Wonderfull (a fishersman port at sea, no mass toerism at the sea, friendly habitants, nice restaurants, many ways to visit the region by bike, we didn't use the car for 10 days...always by bike, like to go back... )
the pool area and playground were very well kept and fun for our family. we traveled with 2 adults and 3 children (6,6,3). the location was close to Normandy sights, but a car is still a must in the area. free parking on site, pizza food truck was good on Friday night.
My ferry was delayed and we only arrived at the hotel at 12,30am, but the hotel wrote to say it wouldn’t be a problem. Great lively lobby with friendly staff, seating and bar. Good view of the harbour and a short walk to the shops, restaurants and sea.
The property is very convenient to the sites of Normandy! It had places for the kids to run and play! They enjoyed the bounce houses and indoor pool. We enjoyed the restaurant close by and walking to the village. The staff is amazing!
Deceptively spacious and well presented home with everything you need. Lovely garden and outdoors space too. All just a short walk away for this lovely Normandy coastal town's harbour side restaurants and cafe bars.
Great base to explore the D-day beaches, Bayeux, Caen and MSM. Phillipe was a great host. The house is spacious, cheerfully decorated and full of appliances, we had everything we could hope for our trip to Normandy!
Perfect for a weekend getaway, family of 5. The hotel was close to all the must see locations, but far enough away from traffic and noise. We loved the fact that there was a full sized fridge and a microwave.
The location was good relative to Normandy event sites also, it is central to the town its located. Parking wasn't too bad either and the kitchen was helpful. The say light is very nice - large windows.
What a wonderful hotel in a perfect location to enjoy so much that Port-en-Bassin and this part of Normandy has to offer! Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms very comfortable. Pool enjoyed by kids.
