The breakfast was excellent. Lovely clean room. We used the Italian restaurant a couple of evenings again all good. Staff were great and helpful. . It would have been useful to have a small fridge in the room as we were late back a couple of evenings and brought back food to eat in the room. Otherwise very nice place to stay.

1. Hotel is just in front of Aviemore railway station. Very easy to reach hotel.
2. Excellent place for kids enjoyment. Park, Swimming pool, Activity area, shopping and walking tracks.
3. Good Breakfast
4. Room cleaning staff available all times. Really appreciate their efforts.
5. Easy access to Tesco, Aldi and many other grocery shops along with local restaurants.
6. Hotel reception staff is really good, helping with all queries. Jack at reception was very polite and helped us on all our queries.

I was staying in a pod and I really liked the fact that it had a proper coffee machine and not just instant coffee. The location was great….away from the noise but within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. I really liked it that although I was in a pod I could use the bath in the main guesthouse building.
Both host and hostess made me feel very welcome.

Really well run place, excellent friendly staff, really quite exceptional for a busy pub working very hard at peak times. Freshly cooked breakfast and good pub food in evening. Really good response to need for gluten free option (coeliac) and early take away breakfast one day. For a 'pub with rooms', just excellent because of the staff

Amazing place in summer.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. Walking in and around Aviemore views scenery beautiful but my advice would be to go self catering if you can eating out is way too expensive for food and drinks We love the area but didn't have a great experience in eating out . Our experience was of poor quality highly priced food

The hotel is well located close to and in walking distance of all the local amenities, as well as the main roads leading to and from Aviemore. This was a short stay but I would not hesitate to come back to the High Range Lodge Hotel for a longer stay.

Even though the bathrooms or one bedroom are on the smaller side, they were perfectly functional and we enjoyed our stay there. It was pleasant to sit in the living room in the evening or on the little terrace after lunch when the sun finally came out. I cooked our meals and the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. It was a great place for the three nights we had in Aviemore.

However, the atmosphere within the bar area in the evening was really good. Lively, friendly chat/banter amongst the locals and even included us at times. Breakfast and Dinner were plentiful, tasty and well priced. Rooms were comfortable and warm. Location was a good base for walking, skiing (if snow available) and whisky trail, plus general tourism by car.
