Hotel in Comox ( 3.3 miles)
Offering views of the Strait of Georgia and the mountains, this hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool and daily continental breakfast. Courtenay is 7 minutes' drive away. I would recommend Port Augusta to anyone travelling with pets. I noticed quite a few people with dogs. When Westjet screwed up the reservation for me and my pets (I had been boarding my cats), I came back to Port Augusta and the extremely competent and friendly front desk women relieved my stress by saying I could have my same room back, and yes, both my dog and cats were welcome for another night!

The city itself is clean and well maintained. There were some nice places to eat and walk around but very little nightlife. I'd definitely recommend it for retirees but maybe not younger travellers. I highly recommend the black fin for dinner and komox grind for coffees and killer smoothies.
We had such a great family vacation , and soooo much to do for all of us !! 2 places that are a Must do would be Saratoga Speedway ( go carts, monster truck rides , Races eat. ) Super fun family centre Super reasonably priced , Staff was Great Clean!!! , and Nymph Falls Gorgeous Falls and River !!
Great little town with unbelievable restaurants and beautiful scenery. There are new brew pubs: land & sea, new tradition brewing and church street tap house to hang out in plus a cute boutique coffee shop called Milano. Filberg park is a must stop along with the wineries in the area, 40 knots for example. The hiking and beaches are really great.
Comox is a second home so I'm there quite often. Sites: Filberg Lodge is a must to visit, their oceanfront cafe serves great food when open and walking the marina boardwalk to spy on boats and kingfishers is a pleasant pastime. The Comox and Comox base little museums. It's a pretty, walkable, bikeable village/town and the ocean/mountain views are lovely. The main shopping street has quality if not quantity of stores. Food? Church St bakery, the Black Fin pub, Sushi Kobo takeout are my favs but there is also a great gelato place, and a few I haven't tried - Toscano's, Martine's. Wander around, get a bike. If self-catering, I like Quality foods. The biggest problem is the limited transit system if you want to avoid cars so pick up transit maps at the town hall if you want to go to next-door Courtenay where there are some fine boutiques to explore and eating to be be done (Atlas Cafe, Butcher's Block for meat/takeout, Hot Chocolates (which is sooo much more than chocolates I'll leave it to you to find out...), Vassili's bakery but explore - there are others. If you're on a very strict budget, need clothing - Value Village has everything you need; for funky reasonably priced casual/cruise - Art Knapps garden store (you read that right - garden store). Swim/wet wear - Everything Wet is the best for high quality swimsuits (two and counting). Great variety, great owner, look for the sales. Worth every cent and I'm a tough fit, short, overweight, short-waisted and pear-shaped to boot. My latest Australian design Azura one-piece swimsuit makes 60+ me feel like a model. Things to do: Sid Williams live theatre, great Courtenay museum, Puntledge river and Seal Bay walks, So much more - the music scene, skiing, fishing, sailing, canoeing, biking, riding, sampling (40 Knots winery - the Meritage!!!!). Go, surprise yourself exploring this lovely area and all it has to offer.
I love Comox ,where can you go that you have so much selection of activates to choices from there are plenty of restaurants and bars as well ...just remember your on island time and an adventure playground so there's really no need for your fancy clothing unless your heading to a fancy party.....what ever you do have fun
We were pleasantly surprised with the good dining available in the town. Martine´s Bistro, Avenue, Bistro, Toscano´s Mediterranean Grill were all good. The first two are excellent. Be sure to reserve. MIlano Coffee is also a good spot. We came in Comox for the walking and geocaching, and were not disappointed.
I enjoy the location (close to YQQ airport), the breakfast, quiet room and friendly staff.
