Lossiranta Lodge, hotel in Savonlinna

Just 328 feet from the bridge to Olavinlinna Castle, this small boutique hotel is next to Lake Saimaa in Savonlinna. It offers individually decorated rooms with scenic views and free wired internet.

Absolutely one of the best little places I've stayed anywhere! It's a cosy little place with only a couple of rooms which open up to a lawn with an amazing view of the castle and the lake. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed getting to chat with her after breakfast and learning more about the area. It was more akin to being a welcomed guest in someone's home rather than just a customer as a hotel. I would absolutely stay there again!

Summer Hotel Tott, hotel in Savonlinna

Located 1640 feet from Savonlinna Train Station, this hotel is 10 minutes’ walk from the 15th-century Olavinlinna Castle. All rooms offer a TV and mini-bar.

The property is perfectly located next to the center, market, restaurants, grocery shop, train station, boat piers, only the long distance bus station is inconveniently located in totally different neighborhood. The room is modest and the bathroom somewhat inconvenient because of the placement of sanitary fittings in the bathroom. Anyway, everything was doing its job in a satisfactory way. It is also true that the price was quite high, but this is something that is so understandable for the July when famous opera festival/event takes place in the nearby castle/fortress of Olavinlinna. Also, I have noticed that Savonlinna, even without the opera festival is so admired by so many visitors from all parts of Finland and foreign countries, myself included, because of its astonishing beauty and possibility to enjoy in so many sights and activities. To conclude, although the room was simple and modest and although the price was high, I would return to this property because it represents a very good choice for staying and enjoying wonderful Savonlinna.

Beautiful city, marketing is not working, should have more event advertising. Will not stay at the Spa Hotel Casino. Ate at the Muikkuterassi at the rooftop of Sokos hotel at the center market area . Also ate at Ravintola Majakka. Would recommend both places. Nice walking town.

    Savonlinna is so beautiful town.

Savonlinna is so beautiful town. Mainly the castle and the museum are both worth a visit, also a walk around the wooded islands and the town, during which it is worth a visit and refreshments at Cafe Saima, very delicious food.

Beautiful (and crowded) castle, possibilities of cruises on the lake and some nice restaurants. Great market in the mornings. A town for a couple of days, not more (unless you are here for the opera festival).

We had a incident there with poorly managed covid restrictions in upscale pizzeria in centrum. They didn't care social distancing and when we went to say about that, local covid denials launch yelling and swearing show. That ruined our evening and somebody might even say that its not worth to go back there. At least to that pizzeria that is.

    Savonlinna pleasantly surprised me.

Savonlinna pleasantly surprised me. It felt like a bigger city and had a lot of good restaurants and shops. Olavinlinna Castle is a must see, and only a short walk from the shore (where you can park). Close by Olavinlinna, you can find shops and restaurants in abundance. We stayed at Casino Spa and for once, there's an effective air conditioning available at a Finnish hotel. Finland as a whole still thinks our summers are not hot enough to warrant AC, but they're slowly but surely getting there.

    Visit Olavinlinna is must.

Visit Olavinlinna is must. I recommend to go to Linnankatu-the old town. People are friendly. Town is very nice place surrounded by water. Also recommend hiking around Olavinlinna, it offer great view of the castle. My visit was followed by rain, that was reason not to go and see seals!!!

A very lovely flat in a great location. Easy access to the main points of interest (i.e town centre, train station, bus stations, nature, food stores). Pet-friendly (my dog got a special welcome). Warm flat, comfortable bed, kitchen has all amenities, blackout curtains in the bedroom, easy communication with the hosts. What else to wish for. Definitely a place we would come back to stay in if we go to Savonlinna again!

Great, cozy home-like apartment in the centre of Savonlinna, just few minutes away from the castle. Calm location, nice views from the balcony towards the castle. Grocery store (K-market) on the other side of the street. All the needed facilities, e.g. microwave, coffee maker, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, smart TV etc. Tuula was friendly and helpful. Warmly recommend!

If you want to live the experience to stay at a farm in Finland this is the right place to go! The people were really super friendly and helpful. They are open to advise on any possible activities in the area (ice fishing etc.). We couldn’t have been happier. Everything was very clean and for 10€ you can use a real traditional Finnish sauna which is fired with wood.

Norppa was exactly what we were hoping for. The location was quiet, scenic and easy reach of Savonlinna. We, however, didn't need to utilize Savonlinna, as Norppa had all we wanted. Breakfast was sufficient for our needs and as we did day trips, we ate elsewhere. The lone staff member was very friendly and helpful. We are Aussies visiting Finland.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The area was beautiful with access to the beach, and a walk in the forest. It was in a beautiful setting and very quiet. There was a Koda, actually 2 since there was one near the tower as well, which were great. The beds were comfortable.

Cute b&b, which used to be an old train station. We had room 1, which was very large with A/C. Dog friendly place. Great breakfast . We stayed here during the opera festival and their room rates were excellent compared to hotels. Took a bicycle taxi to the castle and it was about 10 minute ride away.
