Just returned from a couple of nights at The Crown. Portpatrick is a lovely place, and the Crown is an ideal base. A busy pub, with very friendly staff, and excellent food within a very pleasant and large restaurant area. The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. No noise from pub below (we were on top floor). Good value, and very centrally located.

Featuring its own curling ice rink and an indoor pool, North West Castle Hotel is located opposite Stranraer harbour, which serves as the main ferry port between Scotland and Ireland.

10 minute walk along the water-front causeway to the town centre. Beautiful location on the water-front. Very friendly host family. Great breakfast including accommodating my food allergy (gf).
