Kinnitty Castle Hotel, hotel in Kinnitty

Dating back to 1209, this impressive Gothic castle is set within a stunning 650 acres of parkland and forests.

The castle and grounds are pristinely kept. The staff are warm and welcoming. The breakfast was exceptional and the dungeon bar had amazing dinner options. We especially enjoyed chatting in the library bar and sitting by the fire in the lounge. We met wonderful guests and told/heard so many stories. We can’t wait to go back!

This castle was a true dream.

This castle was a true dream. The rooms and staff were fabulous. We had so much fun with Shawna and Lucy, their service was perfect and their interaction with us made our stay fun. The food and drinks were great and served with perfection. The castle was clean and made you feel like royalty. I am not sure if it had an elevator but we did not mind the stairs, you are after all in a true century old castle. We would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in a castle.

The castle itself is magnificent. Great Staff … all so friendly and helpful. Wedding Ceremony room was beautifully decorated. Excellent breakfast served with a smile 😊 Had a delicious meal in the library… definitely the most generous pizza I have come across. I could only get through half of it. There is no lift so it was difficult bringing luggage up three flights of stairs.

It was fun staying in an authentic castle, it was preserved nicely. I wish we had taken time to walk the grounds and experience gardens and trails. We only stayed one night, and the accomodations were nice - but it was definately an "old" facility. The restaurant in the "dungeon" had a lot of character, the food was good but the service was awful.

The hiking trails around the castle were amazing, easy to complete (no steep hills, paths are large and comfortable). The animals live and animate the scenery. The room was great value for money. The availability of food (good) at the bar was important since we arrived by taxi and didn't want to walk to the village to eat, although it's close by. The water available to purchase could come in bigger sizes.

Unique experience, something different and alternative! Ideal for a group getaway (especially hen/stag parties) or just a small group get together! Quite and remote, with Kinnitty castle trail loops up the road! We loved every minute of our stay! The pub itself is ideal, on the doorstep of the townhouse/lodges! pizza and pints, just simple & delicious!

The location is fabulous, the hotel nestled in the Slieve Bloom mountains and secluded from the main road via a long driveway is fantastic, pay attention after dark though as you'll most likely encounter deer The beds wer super comfy, and the room was spacious and the bathroom big enough to hold a banquet in

What makes Kinnitty a terrific break, is the wonderful staff. They are so very courteous and helpful, that it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. Both my wife and I stayed there in 2019, and returned there last week. Lovely ambience for a break, great service and nice food. Kinnitty is wholly recommended.

Kinnitty castle was incredibly impressive when you approached. The grounds were beautiful with older buildings, a river, horses and deer just relaxing. The castle interior looked amazing and the staff were helpful and friendly. We ate breakfast and dinner both days and the food was delicious and plentiful.

Treated ourselves to a night in a castle. Upgraded on arrival to a Baronial room. Lots of stairs to get to the but well worth the climb. Had a lovely dinner in the basement, no need to leave the hotel once you arrive. Good breakfast.

Wonderful old "castle" (really a grand country estate) in the Slieve Bloom Mountains, including an atmospheric "Dungeon" bar. Great walking trails accessible right from the hotel grounds. Nice "to order" hot breakfast included.
