Dating back to 1209, this impressive Gothic castle is set within a stunning 650 acres of parkland and forests. The spaces in the hotel were extremely comfortable, the nature around was beautiful, the staff really nice and helpful. We enjoyed the food served at the Dungeon Bar, considering the standard prices in the country, it was more than reasonably priced. Breakfast was tasty, the breakfast room was elegant and overlooked the garden. We stayed in the Bernard suite and we were impressed by how spacious both the room and the bathroom were, the sight from the window was amazing. There are easy hiking path starting from around the castle.

Dating back to 1747, this historic coaching inn boasts an on-site coffee shop selling fresh pastries, home-cooked food, and afternoon tea. It is ideally sited to enjoy the delights of Birr and it's famous castle. Personally it was ideal. for me to explore my ancestors who established the town as it is today namely the Parson family who still live at the castle. The hotel staff are very friendly and hard working. Well done to everyone.

Offering a garden and garden view, The Harbour Masters House is situated in Banagher, 19 km from Cross of the Scriptures and 30 km from Dun na Si Heritage & Genealogical Centre. Darren was really welcoming and happy to share tips and recommendations. He was just a top bloke really and it was great sharing a pint with him at the pub. We really enjoyed our short stay.

Kitty's is set in Tullamore, 200 metres from Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre and 12 km from Kilbeggan Racecourse. The property is 14 km from Ballard Farm. Almost everything was fantastic. Really an exceptionally well done apartment. Truly professional. Loved the living room chairs as well.

Situated in Banagher and only 22 km from Cross of the Scriptures, Keeraun Hill features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Excellent standard of accomodation. Wonderful host and a lovely welcome with warm scones and tea. Super breakfast. No negative issues at all. Lady owner even offered us a lift to an evening meeting we were attending.

Situated within 39 km of Tullamore Dew Heritage Centre and 43 km of Dun na Si Heritage & Genealogical Centre in Birr, Brona Dempsey features accommodation with seating area. Brona and Kevin were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was spotless. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back again!

Set in Banagher, 24 km from Cross of the Scriptures, Charlotte's Way B&B offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a shared lounge. It was beautiful and historic. Very classy and very well maintained.
