The lively, relaxed pub down stairs. Then as soon as last orders were called and everyone had left, it was as quiet as a mouse and so peaceful.

Gunthorpe is a very small hamlet with no shop, pub, restaurant. The roads are narrow, with no street lamps and you need to drive out a couple of miles to buy a newspaper. It is quite remote so it's lovely and quiet. If you want a busy town with lots of shops, pubs etc stay elsewhere. It is however, very close to Thursford and perfect for the fabulous Christmas Spectacular which occurs every year.
