The staff are excellent. The rooms are quiet and exceptionally clean and comfortable. We travelled from Australia. I am English and wanted to take my husband as it was the last place my family stayed before we immigrated in 1964. The place has always been dear to me and I have visited 3 times. Always above expectations.

This charming traditional coaching inn is a Grade II historical registry listed building and still retains many of its beautiful original features, such as exposed wooden beams. Dog friendly is an understatement, they were so accommodating to us and our rather filthy dog having walked Offa's Dyke that day. Lovely big room and enjoyed the bath!

Ross on Wye
The hotel turned out to be the best we have ever stayed in. We were greeted when we arrived with help to carry our luggage to a very comfortable room, spotlessly clean with lovely en suite. The owner/manager was helpful and polite beyond belief. We had breakfast every day and superb evening meal every night, the food was delicious and you felt that nothing was too much trouble. Would totaly recommend this hotel and would happily go again, the Wye valley is a fabulous place to see.
Ross on Wye
Lovely setting. Exceedingly clean. Great garden with an exceptional view down the Wye Valley and to Ross on Wye. Large, spacious bedrooms and a glorious shower. The Lounge is wonderfully inviting with a well-stocked honesty bar. The breakfast room is especially great (airy and bright) and the breakfast exceedingly scrumptious. We felt very well looked after. Has a large carpark and within easy reach of tourist attractions along the Wye Valley.
We stayed 3 nights at the Loft. It is a superb apartment, clean and spacious, and perfectly located to explore the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley (including attractions like Chepstow Castle and Tintern Abbey) as they are only a short drive away. Although we did not meet our hosts personally, communication with them by e-mail was easy and they were really helpful. The biscuits, tea, and coffee were a nice welcome touch.
Symonds Yat
Excellent location for walking around Wye valley. Very impressive views. Very relaxing. Good pubs and hotel restaurants within easy walking distance. Enjoyed hand pulled ferries. Closest ferry is requested by ringing the pub. Suspension bridge down stream. House well equipped for cooking etc. Has smart TV with Netflix access. Ross on Wye and Goodrich castle worth visit.
Monmouth
The apartment was the perfect little bolt hole for us. Lovely decor. Very clean and comfortable, Everything has been thought of. Great for a lazy lay in followed by lots of walking and exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and the hills around Abergavenny. Then the well-earned relaxation in the evening with tired legs and feet. Highly recommended!
Excellent hotel ideally located close to town centre and restaurants. We had a very spacious room with wonderful views across the Wye valley. Breakfast was excellent on the one morning we had it with staff very attentive. Overall a great old traditional hotel at a great price. We recommend No.3 Restaurant and Avalino to eat - both within 10 minutes walk
Symonds Yat
The accommodation is spacious, clean, well equipped and has an amazing view of the Wye valley. There are several nice walks in the area, and watersports can be booked on the river nearby. There are two pubs in easy walking distance. We ate at Ye Old Ferrie Inn where the food was lovely. We also saw several deer at the door of our apartment.
A great location for touring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, the hotel with its adjoining golf course, was a perfect accompaniment, welcoming, helpful and friendly staff, an on-site club-house provided good meal options from bar-meals through to he main restaurant.
Location is amazing, couldn't get better for a weekend in the Wye Valley Staff were all pleasant, we arrived late on the Friday night and asked for dinner. We were the only ones in the dining area but they were happy to provide. Bed was comfy and we slept well.
Chepstow
The staff were really kind and made you feel at home. Very approachable. The breakfast was great and ample portions. Set us up for the day. Did a part of the wye valley walk which is very near the hotel. Beautiful scenery. Very close to town and all amenities
The location is great for exploring Wye Valley, the grounds are superb and the old building at the heart of the complex very picturesque. It’s been long established and they have all the raw materials for a great 4 star hotel.

Beautiful setting by the River Wye-lovely area for walks! The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was well-appointed with lovely products and good lighting, scrupulously clean! We loved the cozy restaurant and were very pleased with the excellent quality of the meals, including breakfast. The wait staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating.
It's like staying in a museum. The place is a treasure chest of history which adds to the charm of the old court house. Rooms were well furnished and large. Have recommended to friends and family. Would stay again.
They have all the things we need, including sewing kit! They even have welcome food and drinks for us. Thank you!
Fabulous hotel with the most comfy and spotlessly clean room and best cooked breakfast you will find. Owners are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Made to feel really welcome. Would have no hesitation in staying here when next in the area and could recommend staying here without doubt. You will not be disappointed.
