Ideally located in the highest village in Portugal, El Rei Dom Manuel Hotel is housed in a historic building, its rooms offer breathtaking and stunning views over the landscapes of Portugal and Spain.... Very comfortable hotel with plenty of Portuguese character and charm. We were lucky to have a mountain view room from which we enjoyed a stunning sunrise. Easy parking outside the hotel although the road through the town is very narrow.

Featuring white-washed Alentejo architecture, Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, Montforte, a Member of Design Hotels offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa and wellness center, and a restaurant and... A fantastic property in a stunning location. We loved the thematic decor of the property. They have some lovely touches like a rooftop sunset welcome drink. The food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the service. The 'wine at the table' experience is a must. The restaurant service was on point. The pool area is chic and the loungers comfortable. The water was refreshing! The spa area was good although the steam room seemed to turn itself off for some reason at one point. The fact that the horse stables are so close and that some of the horses roam the gardens adds a little magic. My wife had a horse riding lesson and enjoyed it.

"Overlooking Montargil Dam, Monte Novo Villas offers rooms and villas with a sophisticated décor and the opportunity to enjoy water sports activities. I struck gold with this hotel. I booked close to a company where I was to have a meeting the following day, so I didn't do a lot of research. The place is truly magnificent. The setting, scenery, the buildings, the rooms, all of it. The room was spacious and luxuriously furnished, with windows looking on to the infinity pool and the reservoir waters beyond, a view only partially blocked by a line of majestic palms. I was, astonishingly, the only guest (a Monday in November...), but was truly well looked after. Although the restaurant was "closed", Miguel (the chef), said he would prepare a dinner for me. What a delight for the senses. Excellent, creatively prepared food with local and seasonal ingredients. It was like having my own private chef for the evening. A very good night's sleep in a very quiet room, and a comfortable bed. The room has a massive TV, a huge split bathroom (double washbasin, shower, toilet), and is equipped with a coffee machine with a handful of capsules (I enjoyed a coffee on the terrace outside before I even went for breakfast). The service was impeccable. I realise that it was off-season and the room rate can be double what I paid, but even then it would be well worth the money. Thanks Miguel. I look forward to trying more of your food!

Located in Pavia, 27 miles from Cathedral of Evora Se, Monte da Bela Raposa provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. Everything was perfect, from the very quiet location, to the oriental style decoration, comfort, and an atmosphere of incredible harmony and peace! Françoise was a sweetheart, as all the staff!
